Good Afternoon Academy of Science and Innovation Families,

We are a few days into 2020, I want to offer my wishes once again for a great New Year to all families. 

Some of our Sixth grades will be visiting Microsoft on Monday, January 13th  and Tuesday, January 14th  next week. 

Please be reminded that Wednesday, January 15th  will be an Early Dismissal day, with a 10:50 am dismissal.  The new session of Tuesday and Thursday after school clubs started this week.  If your child would like to sign up for clubs there is still time to sign up until Tuesday, January 14th.

Here is some basic info for parents about after school clubs:

Session 2: Session two will begin on Jan 7th  and run until March 12th . There will be no after school programming on February 18th  and 20th .  Session 3 will start on March 24th.  An announcement will be made and posted on Schoology in the event a club or clubs are canceled. Students should leave immediately after school if his or her club is canceled.

Club information:

Start time: 2:30 pm 

Dinner time: 4:00 pm (Dinner will be offered to all students, free of cost from 4:00-4:30.)

End time: 4:30 pm (See Bus List) If a student misses the bus, he or she is responsible for getting a ride home. ** Only students who are signed up for an After School club will be able to take the after school bus.

Clubs marked with (HS) are for high school students. Clubs marked with (MS) are for middle school students.

After School Club Rules: 

  • Students must be in their clubs at 2:30 pm until dinner time at 4 pm. Attendance will be taken no later than 2:35 pm. 
  • Clubs start promptly at 2:30 pm, and students will need to board buses by 4:30 pm. 
  • If a student misses the bus, he or she is responsible for getting a ride home. 
  • All students need to be in a room after school or with a teacher.
  • If a student is not staying with a teacher in an assigned club, parents will be called to pick them up. 
  •  If a student is waiting for a ride, he or she will need to wait by the entrance with security.  
  • Students will not be allowed to stay if they aren’t in a club or with a teacher. 
  • If a student leaves school grounds after school without a teacher, the student will not be allowed back in the building and will be given a warning. If the student continues to leave school grounds they will not be allowed to stay after school.

Thursday, January 16th  the Music Theater Class will be preforming Frozen Jr at Trinity on Main at 7:00 pm.  The performance is free for all of those that would like to attend.  Friday, January 17th  is the last day for students to turn in late work for quarter 2.  Just a reminder that Quarter 2/Semester 1 ends on Friday, January 24th. HS midterm exams and Middle school Project Based Learning (PBL) projects will occur January 21st through January 24th. Monday, January 20th, there will be no school in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday.
