We Are The 2018 U.S. Nationals Robotics Team Champions!!!

After an incredibly successful season, 17 students from our Vex Robotics Team competed very well at the U.S. Robotics National Championship.

The team competed in the Open division, which consisted of 19 teams from China as well as others high schools, colleges, and professional engineers. The primary focus of this division was to develop relationships with schools in China and our team was very successful at making new friends from overseas!

Students were up and working from 5:45a - 8/9p every day. Their efforts were extremely worthwhile...

With that being said, we are very excited to announce that our Robotics Team is the 2018 U.S. Robotics Nationals Champions in robot skills for the Open division! We are the 1st school in our region to do this within the last 10 years! We are extremely proud of our students and all of their hard work.

The team was also awarded the U.S. Robotics Nationals "Think" award, which is given to the team that demonstrates "impressive and effective autonomous programming." The team's robot stood out from a programming perspective and their tireless efforts really impressed the judges, players, and coaches. This award was also given, in part, as a result of our team's efforts in the Engineering Design Journal, lead by Stefany Ferguson.

The following team members participated and were ALL responsible for bringing the hardware and recognition of a national robotics championship to our school:
