We would like to extend a very big congratulation to ASI's Vex Robotics Team 8079A! For the third consecutive CT State Robotics competition, our students qualified for regionals by taking home another first place win for their engineering design work! This is a culmination of academic achievement of about 15-20 students led by team manager Stefany Furgeson.
Additionally, senior Tyreke Martina led the team to improve from 823rd in the world rankings to 597th! At first, this statistic does not sound impressive, until you consider that there are over 13,000 competition robots from over a dozen countries registered for the 2017-18 season! The team's goal is to break the top 100.
We are extremely proud of our students and would like to thank all of our ASI staff for their support in preparing our students to compete at such an impressively high level.
Our next state competition is at Choate Rosemary Hall on Saturday, February 3, 2018 (7am - 5pm).
